Fragile Peace
The 'Troubles' officially began in Northern Ireland in 1969, they consist of an on-going dispute between Catholics and Protestants over whether Northern Ireland should remain as park of the United Kingdom or become part of Ireland.
Violence has become the voice of the people, leading to the formation of the Catholic I.R.A (Irish Republican Army) and the Protestant U.V.F (Ulster Volunteer Force). Through on-going violence, shootings, bombings and riots each side seek the attention of politics.
This series seeks to explore the segregation in Northern Ireland today, through painted curbs and flags, each side mark their territory. An underlying tension runs deep within the country, rarely spoken of and in many ways not dealt with, a fragile peace.
